Herdr raised a $6M seed. We're hiring.
A month ago I wrote this blog post about Herdr joining Y Combinator: how the runtime stays open, and how I wanted to build a small team to bring all the machines running Herdr together, and to make Herdr itself faster, more robust, more extensible.
Today Herdr got the fuel to do that: a $6M seed led by Bessemer Venture Partners, with Y Combinator, e2vc, and angels including Tobi Lütke (CEO, Shopify), Dane Knecht (CTO, Cloudflare), and Görkem Yurtseven (co-founder, fal).
Which means: I’m looking for people who are into Herdr. People who live in terminals. People who believe terminals are the future for AI agents, the place where agents feel more natural and more capable, and that human-AI collaboration is going to look very different from how we’ve handled terminals before.
Herdr needs people who love Rust, terminals, and agents. Who get excited about new model releases, experiment with different harnesses, and have an opinion about which harness is better and why.
I also thought about how to hire. Like I said in the YC post, I think we’ve been slow to catch up with everything moving so fast in AI. Whiteboard interviews, leetcode tasks, emails to book a call, forms to fill, cover letters. I don’t think those are relevant today. So I wanted to do something different, something that fits Herdr:

p.s.: Hiring through a terminal felt right. But it’s an experiment. If it flops, I’ll go back to normal hiring like everyone else. It would have felt wrong for Herdr to hire through a web form.
