Layouts
Whole new windows.

A layout is a whole window: what goes where and how it looks. Copy one line and your agent adds it next to yours. Yours stays as it is.

BoardExample

Agents as cards in four columns: Needs you, Working, Done and Idle. Click a card and its tab's live terminals fill the workspace below.

CallExample

A pretend team call with live terminals as shared screens. Agents in other tabs sit in the gallery; working ones speak, and blocked ones raise a hand.

ChatExample

Spaces look like channels and agents look like teammates posting updates. Open an agent's thread to see its tab's real terminals on the right.

herdrdev
CodeExample

A familiar dark editor around your terminals. The explorer lists real files, but the code view is a fixed, read-only slice of one CSS file.

herdrdev
MissionExample

A green mission-control screen for your agents. The active tab's terminals are command feeds; agents in other tabs form a two-row status array below.

PastureExample

Your agents as a herd of sheep in a meadow. Working sheep wander, idle ones graze, finished ones sleep, and one that needs you jumps with a bubble over its head. Click a sheep and its terminals open in the workshed below.

ThreadsExample

Every tab becomes a thread in a project inbox. Pin, snooze or settle work, send follow-ups below the live terminal, and read files or diffs on the right.

Made a layout you like? Three steps, no sign up.

  1. Ask your agent to write it up. Paste the prompt. It writes a RECIPE.md: the brief another agent could build your layout from. See Pasture's.
  2. Push it to a public GitHub repo with the topic herdr-layout. Each layout is a folder with layouts/<name>.json, its mods/, the RECIPE.md and a preview.png. One repo can hold several.
  3. It shows up here within the hour, under Community.

Layouts aren't reviewed by Herdr: your agent reads every file before it adds one. Community layouts show without pictures for now.

prompt

Read ~/.config/herdr-app/AGENTS.md, then write a RECIPE.md for my <name> layout the way it describes: a brief another agent could build it from with an empty folder. Put the layout, its mods, the recipe and a screenshot named preview.png in one folder, push it to a public GitHub repo and add the topic herdr-layout.
